Thyroid adenoma

A benign tumor of the thyroid gland often requires surgical treatment against the background of hormonal therapy and diet.

Thyroid adenoma is a benign tumor of the thyroid gland. It is characterized by a slow growth rate, rounded shape and a pronounced capsule separating it from the healthy tissue of the thyroid gland. Thyroid adenoma is more common in women.

In most cases, it is not accompanied by a dysfunction of the thyroid gland and is asymptomatic. When it reaches a large size, it can squeeze the surrounding tissue. Over time, it can degenerate into thyroid cancer.

In some cases, the adenoma of the thyroid gland is accompanied by an increase in the production of hormones, which is accompanied by the phenomena of thyrotoxicosis.
