How does heat affect people with problem thyroid glands and how to protect themselves from sweltering heat? Sweat for pleasure!

Swearing the heat, let’s still remember how six months ago, in cold weather, we dreamed that winter would pass faster and that streams of sunshine would embrace our whitish little bodies. Six months later, this time has come. So let us rejoice at the streams of the sun, which we once called to visit and “fry” without burning, like a steak in a skillet from a skilled mistress! And for this we need to know what and how true heat affects a person with a problem thyroid gland (and not only) and how to reduce the sizzling effect of heat on the body.

1. The Sun and Thyroid Problem

– People with a problem thyroid gland are not recommended by doctors to stay in the open sun. Moreover, doctors suggest that such patients almost transform into Mexicans in the heat , that is, wear hats with wide brim and apply sunscreen specifically to the throat with an UV protection index of at least 30.

– It would be nice to wrap yourself in a sheet, or to throw a wide towel, and even better to climb under a beach umbrella. – One of my acquaintances, an endocrinologist, told me that for people with problems of his profile, “the sun is the first enemy.” In his opinion, the most reliable means of salvation from direct sunlight is maximum wrapping. I asked again: “Will even grandfather’s sheepskin coat fit?” The doctor said in all seriousness that it may sound funny, but in fact, thick clothes or a wrap is the best option. It turns out that the “Mexican” in the Siberian long sheepskin coat is the best for endocrinological patients in the heat. This is the position of official Russian medicine.

– However, the point of view that “the sun is the enemy” for endocrinological patients in other countries is not shared by most doctors. There it is believed that special recommendations for sun exposure for people with an unhealthy thyroid gland should not be given. Unless general advice, suitable for ordinary citizens.

– Some doctors generally say that the sun has a beneficial effect on the problem thyroid gland! There is no consensus on this issue. I believe that the truth lies somewhere in the middle: if there is an ailment of the thyroid gland, then do not deny yourself the pleasure of wallowing in the southern seas because of this. But frying lightly in the scorching sun is also not worth it. Perhaps it is in your heat that the exacerbation of endocrinological problems will cause.

Therefore, sunbathe in the open air from sunrise to 10 in the morning, and then dive under a beach umbrella, like moles in their burrows. Or wrap yourself in a sheet and remember the film “The White Sun of the Desert”. “Gulchat!” Open your face! ” . Have a swim and again in shelter! And after five in the evening you can leave your rookery under an umbrella (or remove the burqa in the form of a sheet) and sunbathe again completely free.

2. Skin and heat

Always remember the scientific fact proved by scientists: a person’s skin, it turns out, has the ability to “remember” the whole sun that falls on it throughout life. – Excessive ultraviolet radiation can lead not only to banal burns, “exfoliation”, but also to a terrible disease – skin cancer.

 – Know that a person begins to sweat at an ambient temperature of 30 degrees and above . Yes, sweating from the outside does not look very impressive: unpleasant odor, smudges on T-shirts, shirts, blouses. But! Through the skin, through the process of perspiration, the body is cooled from the inside.

 – “Drink in the heat for health!” – albeit not entirely hygienic, but very reasonable advice (and it’s good to drink plenty of fluids for the process itself). How many? Yes, drink and drink! And 4 liters a day will be fine.

 – Take more often in hot showers to wash sweat from your skin.

 – Classify your skin. Whites and dark-skinned are allowed different doses of the sun. But remember the main thing: a red-hot sun at the height of the day is not useful to any person!

4. Water for yourself

In the heat, whatever one may say, you need to water yourself regularly. Imagine that you are a flower, almost dried up to the state of a cracker. But life is still barely lingering in boiling veins. And watering yourself, you will perk up both in spirit and in body! Best of all, of course, in the heat of being by the pool or by the sea (the author chose the latter). When you dive with a mask deep into the sea, to the bottom, it is there that it gives you real cold, making its way to the bones. All this floundering near the shore in “fresh milk” helps, but not for long. Mask for scuba diving on the face, more air into the lungs and down to the bottom, to the fish. Singing a tune: “Oh, the frost! Frost! Freeze me! ”(Author’s free interpretation).

If pools and seas are inaccessible, then every housewife has a hand-held light spray for home flowers! Well, the one who has potted flowers growing at home. Any man can also go to the store and buy this plastic sprinkler, supposedly for gins and households. Having such an apparatus at hand, anyone can start spraying himself in the heat from it, as if he is a home cactus, say. And believe me, a grateful body and face, absorbing droplets of moisture, will respond with coolness and freshness. The fact is that water will cool the surface of the skin. The more water you have in the heat (and it is better to immerse yourself completely in it, like Ichthyander), the windier and cooler you will feel.

5. Water inside yourself

After an external attack on the heat by means of water on the body, we move on and fill in the neck inside. So, to extinguish the fire inside the body, caused by unprecedented heat of summer 2010. Doctors advise here to drink only water at room temperature, preferably still. Or green tea. I will notice that choking with warm unsweetened water during the stressful time of the macaw is not a pleasure . Personally, my opinion, which is not necessary to follow, especially for those who completely trust medicine, is better than cold carbonated mineral water, such that a “tear” crawls right across the bottle, nothing! Or kvask, so much so that it’s knocking down teeth. The greatest pleasure! Yes, it is harmful to the teeth, for some internal organs. But it is no worse than in a terrible state of mind caused by heat to choke on still warm empty water, lowering the level of your mood even lower. I repeat again that cold kvass and mineral water are only a special opinion of the author, based on subjective feelings. From the point of view of medicine, the use of ice drinks in the heat is unreasonable. But on the other hand, SUCH heat falls on our dried heads every 130 years. So infrequently, it turns out that we will “extinguish” ourselves with icy streams of soft drinks.

6. The wisdom of nature

-In the heat, almost all insects and animals hide in holes, climb under stones, clog into shrubs. This is no accident. Muscular movement in the heat increases the formation of heat in the body (in addition to the surrounding heat!). Therefore, looking at “our smaller brothers”, listen to the wisdom of nature and its inhabitants. Hide at home under the fans.

Wear light flip flops on your feet. Stuff a baseball cap or hat. These are already well-known recommendations, but they really help. And know: the heat will go away, the cold weather will come in winter, and again we will call the hot sun to come to our horizon.
